New Products

- Orinoco is our latest brand, made in Arizona, and sweetened with maple sugar. It’s really delicious and includes some award winning bars. Even before they won awards I was sold on this chocolate because of the texture, flavor, and finesse. Everything about this chocolate is incredible. Even the packaging and the shape of the chocolate bar (like a cacao pod) make me smile. Some of their selection is on our site now and more will be arriving soon.
- We’re bringing back Honeymoon Chocolate, unique because it is made with honey. I happened to have a partial bar on my desk and I just ate a big piece. It’s sweetened with raw Missouri wildflower and clover honey. It doesn’t taste like honey but it has a really appealing fruitiness. Honeymoon Chocolate Company is a Global Impact Award Finalist for 2023. The business supports small family farms and local beekeepers. They use only three ingredients: organic cacao, organic cacao butter and raw honey.

Shipping
Shipping services just are not the same since COVID. We have been experiencing shipping delays and occasional service disruptions from all three of our shippers (FedEx, UPS and USPS). We are trying to keep the cost down and the service up while adjusting to the new normal in the shipping industry. $12.95 remains our least expensive shipping option even though our cost from the shippers keeps going up. That economical shipping option works for many customer orders. We have changed the name to “Online Shipping Special" because we're changing the nature of the service slightly to avoid raising the price. We now can use any of the shippers, including Ground service which can take up to 5 business days to the East Coast. If you have a favorite shipper, let us know in the "Comments" section of the order and we can try to accommodate your request. If your shipping request isn't viable for our "Online Shipping Special", your shipment may be delayed while we contact you.
Recipe
Do you ever need a dessert in a hurry? You can have this done and ready by this evening.
Triple Chocolate Banana Dream Pie
INGREDIENTS
1 cup Callebaut Chocolate Mousse powder
1¼ cup cold milk
2 bananas
1 prepared pie crust (a no-bake graham cracker crust works perfectly).
½ cup of Valrhona Les Perles
Canned whipped cream
Guittard Decoratifs for decoration on top of the pie
INSTRUCTIONS
- Using a mixer, beat the powder and milk together at high speed for 5 minutes or until the mousse is light and fluffy. Gently mix in the Valrhona Les Perles.
- Spread a small amount of the mousse mixture over the bottom of the pie crust.
- Slice a banana over the mouse, then layer half of the remaining mouse over the top.
- I use a second banana in another layer over the mousse but you don’t need to do this. I happen to like a lot of bananas in my pie. If you want a second banana in the pie, layer it and enough mouse to come just to below the rim of the crust.
- Cover and refrigerate for about 2 hours.
- Before serving put a dollop of whipped cream on top and sprinkle with Guittard Decoratifs.
If you love bananas and chocolate this could become your favorite fast dessert!
Depending on the size of your crust, you may have mousse left over. If you do, just put it in clear glass dessert dishes and place it in the fridge.

Of course we are happy to help over the phone, but we do appreciate it when you place your order on line. It helps us give the most prompt and accurate service. And when you need help, we are here for you. There is generally someone answering the phones between 8:30am and 4:30pm Pacific Time, Monday through Friday, with the exception of commonly observed holidays.
There are five of us answering phones at Chocosphere, where we speak fluent Chocospherian. We try hard to answer all calls personally during normal business hours, but occasionally one slips over to voice mail. If you call and end up in voice mail, please leave a message. We will do our very best to call back promptly. If by chance you don't hear back from us in a reasonable time, please call again during our normal business hours.
We each have varying levels of experience. It is our goal to happily serve you the very best chocolate!!
Finally, and very importantly, our web site lists our service commitments as to when we ship an order based on when the order is placed. However, we certainly understand there are circumstances where you may want us to process an order faster, when you need your chocolate “now”! If you need your order shipped faster than our listed service commitment, please place your order online letting us know of your need in the “Comments” section, and then call us at 503-692-3323 x 0 for Customer Service) to let us know. We can't guarantee early shipping, but we always try hard to provide chocolate happiness to our valued customers.
