Holiday gift giving

It’s close to that time again and we have noticed that you are starting to look for amazing gifts. We have great gifts of every type of chocolate delicacy. If you want a little better deal, pick one of the “just chocolate” assortments or gift bags or baskets. You will get AT LEAST the amount of dollars allocated to chocolate and then some. It allows us to move some of the products that we bought too much of and some of the newer items that you might not know about. The chocolate club is a really good deal too.

If you are thinking about corporate gifts or gifts for your friends and relatives, now is the time to act. Order early to make sure that we have what you want and we can hold your order and ship just before your event or holiday. Please let us know approximately when you would like the chocolate to arrive in the comments section and we’ll pack up your gift and stage it to ship on the correct day.

Greeting cards are free and if you’d like us to print your logo on the card we can do that for corporate gifts. Gift bags are $2.50 and we have lots of other baskets, boxes and wrappings that will have a useful life long after the chocolate is gone (Available on the web site at the end of the top brown bar under ‘gift wrap’, prices vary.).

IncrEdible chocolate deal...

Order by September 15th and for every $50.00 spent, get a free 2012 harvest Gran Couva or Ampamakia bar. These bars are like fine wine; they just get better. Even though the ‘best by’ date is January 2014, they still taste great (we tried them!). You might want to purchase the 2013 harvest bars for comparison purposes. Just like a fine wine, each harvest has its own characteristics. Please state “IncrEdible chocolate deal” in the comments section, and let us know if you have a preference for Gran Couva or Ampamakia. This is an $8.50 value per bar. No limit. Order as many times as you like or just order one great big gigantic order. (Chocolate club and gift certificates are not eligible)

Chocolate spoons and tools

Have you ever wanted to suck on your spoon? Now you can and it will be chocolate. Slitti makes delectable chocolate spoons and realistic cocoa dusted tools for that handy guy or gal. One of our newer customers bought 10 boxes for their wedding. They wanted to use the nuts as wedding rings but they were too small. Think about the possibilities for fun and frivolity with pliers, wrenches, nuts and a bolt.

International shipping

We have suspended shipping to other countries because we found that the U.S. Postal Service is routing packages from Portland, Oregon (where we are) to Los Angeles. The weather is hot and we found that packages might stay in LA for four days before leaving the country. Our warm weather packaging lasts about 3 days. We’ll wait until temperatures cool off to begin shipping again. So sorry for this, but no chocolate is better than chocolate you have to lick off a styro box. Debatable??

Bahlsen Cookies!!!

We tried these German cookies and we know you’ll love them as much as we do. They are amazing, with no high fructose corn syrup and the best ingredients. The price is right and the chocolate is melt-in-your-mouth and all-over-your-face yummy.

Styro recycling

We are continuing with our recycling policy. When a styro container is returned to us, we will issue a $5.00 store credit that can be used on a future order. This has changed from when we used to issue a $5.00 refund to your credit card. Please feel free to return your containers. Be sure to include your full name and email address. However, we would love it if you found a use for them at home. Recycling and reusing is the kindest way to treat our chocolate planet.

Recipe Corner

Chocolate Chip Scones:

1 cup Sour Cream

1 tsp. baking soda

1 tsp. salt

4 cup all-purpose flour

1 cup (2 sticks) butter

1cup white sugar

1 egg

2 tsp. baking powder

¼ tsp. cream of tartar

1 tsp. La Vencadora 4 fold Vanilla (with no alcohol)

1 cup Valrhona perles or Guittard micro chips

In a small bowl, blend the sour cream and baking soda and set aside. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Lightly grease a large baking sheet. In a large bowl, sift the flour, sugar, baking powder, cream of tartar and salt. Cut in the butter. Transfer to a bowl. Stir the sour cream mixture, vanilla and egg into the flour mixture until just moistened. Mix in chocolate. Put on baking pan like large cookies or make a round to be cut into wedges.. If you cut into wedges before baking, you will have crisper edges. Bake 12 to 15 minutes, until golden brown on the bottom.
