Holiday Shipping At This Busiest Time
It’s that time of year and all of our shippers (the U.S. Post Office, FedEx and UPS) are starting to get very busy. We're in that season of frosty and uncooperative weather in some places too. Your Chocospherians are keeping up and getting packages shipped. As you plan your chocolate ordering, keep in mind that carriers removed delivery time guarantees at the beginning of COVID and there is no suggestion that they will be restored before the end of year.
All that said, “NOW is the time to get your Chocolate.” You always have options with Chocosphere and can select ‘Value Shipping’, ‘2 day’ or ‘Overnight’ shipping, and ‘If it Fits, It Ships’. With ‘Value Shipping’ and ‘If it Fits, It Ships’ the choice of shipping carrier is up to us at Chocosphere because we review the size and shape of the order as well as weather and other conditions. You can ask that we use a certain shipper and we will do our best to honor your wish.
Discounts!!
What could possibly be better than discounts at the holidays?
At this time of year when you're giving gifts, the first thing that helps is free gift wrap. You can get one free gift wrap with each order over $50.00. Let us know which item you want wrapped, or if you want us to wrap your entire order (as a single wrapped present, not individual pieces). Write “Wrap me up” in the ‘Comments’ box at checkout to claim this offer.
10% off Special Holiday Gifts: We have lots of winter holiday gifts right now for your friends and family. Items on that page, with the exception of the gift baskets, are eligible for a 10% discount. Click on the link to go directly to our Winter Holiday Collection page.
All of our chocolate bars and tablets that you would normally find on the “Product Type->Bars & Tablets” drop down menu are also discounted at 10% off the regular single-bar price.
And if that is not enough, we are giving you 10% off the products of all of our Made in Oregon brands (see the list below).
This discount will last a very short time, starting Friday, December 9th at 12:01 AM PST through Sunday, December 11th at 11:59 PM PST. Orders shipping to Canada and anywhere in the U.S. will qualify for these specials. There is no dollar limit and you can do this as often as you want as long as you order during the time window listed above. Codes are not needed. Please order online to utilize the promotion.
*Important Conditions: This offer will not be honored retroactively and applies only to merchandise in stock at the time the order is placed. Items on our "Bargain Basement" page are excluded from this offer. Products not explicitly noted in this newsletter as being part of this promotion are not eligable for the 10% discount. All sales are final.
Made in Oregon
We carry four brands of chocolate that are made in Oregon: Bees & Beans, Only Child, Scharffen Berger, and Suzanne’s Chocolate. They are all great makers and you might want to try something from each company.
Bees and Beans
Bees & Beans is the brainchild of a pastry chef in Portland, Oregon who feels that honey is the ideal sweetener for unique gourmet confections. Bees & Beans offerings are handmade in small batches featuring the Pacific Northwest's prized local honey, butter, cream, and hazelnuts, coated in high quality domestically made chocolate. Packaging is designed with consideration of the environment. These are candy bars that you can feel great about eating.
Only Child
Yana, an only child, grew up in Moscow. As a tiny tot, she enjoyed tiny squares of bitter chocolate that sweetened the cold of Russian winters. Upon moving to Chicago in the summer of 1997, she discovered the joys of chocolate milk and peanut M&M’s, thus cementing her love for both the sophisticated flavor of dark chocolate and the exuberant cheerfulness of candy.
While majoring in Literature at the University of Illinois C-U, Yana spent most mornings moonlighting as a cupcake decorator. After graduating, she abandoned Chaucer for chocolate and moved to Portland, OR to attend culinary school.
During long days as pastry chef for Crema Bakery in SE Portland, she dreamt of starting a chocolate company. The offspring of Yana’s love for puns and unexpected flavors, Only Child Chocolate Co. seizes your hand and takes you on a joyful adventure in taste. The artwork, packaging and unusual flavors will make you smile.
Scharffen Berger
This company started in Northern California and now is in Ashland, Oregon. Lucky Us! For Scharffen Berger, everything begins with sourcing the finest cacao available. They carefully taste and blend beans of many origins to create a flavor profile that delivers an incredible experience. Their unique methods and attention to each step in production brings you the pure, deep flavor that has made cacao worthy of reverence for thousands of years. At Scharffen Berger, making chocolate is a labor of love.
Suzanne’s Chocolate
Suzanne's mission has been to introduce a new chocolate experience of quality chocolate paired with intense and unique flavors.
Following a life-long love of culinary arts, Suzanne Popick knew at a young age she wanted to pursue a career in the fascinating world of pastry. Suzanne began her career in pastry while attending the University of Oregon in Eugene. Suzanne's thirst for knowledge of all things pastry grew. In 2003 she made the decision to attend the Culinary Institute of America at Greystone in Saint Helena, California for baking and pastry. It was there that Suzanne was first introduced to art of chocolate. In 2008 Suzanne moved to her hometown of Portland and Suzanne's Chocolate was born. Suzanne's Chocolate has received accolades for its unique, robust flavors and beautiful craftsmanship.
Customer Service
Of course we are happy to help over the phone, but we do appreciate it when you place your order on line. It helps us give the most prompt and accurate service. And when you need help, we are here for you. There is generally someone answering the phones between 8:30am and 4:30pm Pacific Time, Monday through Friday, with the exception of commonly observed holidays.
There are five of us answering phones at Chocosphere, where we speak fluent Chocospherian. We try hard to answer all calls personally during normal business hours, but occasionally one slips over to voice mail. If you call and end up in voice mail, please leave a message. We will do our very best to call back promptly. If by chance you don't hear back from us in a reasonable time, please call again during our normal business hours.
We each have varying levels of experience. It is our goal to happily serve you the very best chocolate!!
Finally, and very importantly, our web site lists our service commitments as to when we ship an order based on when the order is placed. However, we certainly understand there are circumstances where you may want us to process an order faster, when you need your chocolate “now”! If you need your order shipped faster than our listed service commitment, please place your order online letting us know of your need in the “Comments” section, and then call us at 503-692-3323 x 0 for Customer Service) to let us know. We can't guarantee early shipping, but we always try hard to provide chocolate happiness to our valued customers.
